Based on the railway traffic volume by OD, sectioned traffic volumes by the New Sprinter at major inter-stations of the Northern Line are forecasted. Because no present data for the sectioned traffic volume by the Sprinter is available, such iformation is estimated from the Table of Numbers of Passengers by Different Trains (SRT).
Also, of the entire railway traffic volumes for the future, ratios of the number of passengers by different trains of the New Sprinter and of the other trains are calculated after considering the number of fixed passenger seats installed in the trains.
Our forecast results are indicated in Figure 5.5-4. When the sectioned traffic volume by the New Sprinter in 2003 is compared to that of in 1995, the number of passengers between Bangkok and Phitsanulok is expected to increase by 2 times and by 3 times between Phitsanulok and Chiang Mai.
